One hundred competitors and one hundred fans in the stands is the balance of the third ‘Players of the Year’ sports Olympic Games of the ERBUD Foundation. The unique event in Ostróda was attended by children in care from children's homes, educators, employees of the Foundation and ERBUD. This is the largest sports event of its kind in Poland.
A show of cheerleaders, the oath of a sports giant, a card stunt at the stadium, the ceremony of awarding medals and cups - the setting of the event was modelled on great sports events. The athletes competed in team and individual tasks. They could test their skills in, among other things, bungee running, throwing a sack at a target or mini-golf, where tips were given by Dariusz and Lucyna Grzeszczak, private enthusiasts of this discipline. The building sector accent was the competition to build a wall in a set timeframe. It took place in a professional setting, with the contestants wearing high-visibility vests and helmets, which was a lot of fun.
The Olympic Games were attended by children from children's homes in Chełmno and Unisław, Elbląg (1st place), Morąg (2nd place), Ostrzeszów and Książenice (3rd place), Pasłęk and Zielonka Pasłęcka. Emotions were running high not only among the participants, but also among the fans, who cheered their teams on throughout the competition. Valuable prizes were up for grabs - the first three places were awarded with holiday vouchers. The first prize (PLN 25,000) was sponsored by ONDE, the second prize (PLN 15,000) by COM40 and the third prize (PLN 10,000) by Eneria CAT.
Surprise prizes for all participants of the event were financed by "Pomorskie Pralinki" Chocolate Factory, Bakalland, a group of companies specialised in dried fruit market segment, and Herbapol, herbal product manufacturer. We thank all the friends of ERBUD Foundation for their support. See you next year!
